Vatra ceramică și creuzete, secolul XIX

Vatra ceramică și creuzetele provin din vechea colecție a muzeului, colecție care a prins contur în jurul anilor 1904, când Muzeul orășenesc Baia Mare era deja deschis publicului vizitator. Acest complex de recipiente și vatra care putea să fie de formă și mărimi diferite, erau folosite pentru efectuarea probelor chimice cu privire la concentrațiile de metal prețios (aur și argint) din minereul extras din galeriile subterane și la separarea acestora. Din informațiile noastre, acestea au fost folosite în fluxul tehnologic al monetăriei băimărene, atestată documentar în anul 1411 funcționând până în jurul anilor 1850. În Evul Mediu, vasele de probă, respectiv creuzetele, aveau forma unor vase ceramice utilitare, obișnuite, cu deosebirea că la nivelul gurii aveau șanțuri de scurgere pentru minereul topit.

 

 

Ceramic hearth and melting pots, 19th century

The ceramic hearth and the melting pots come from the old collection of the museum, a collection that began around 1904, when Baia Mare Museum was already open to the visiting public. This complex of containers and the hearth, which could be of different shapes and sizes, were used to perform chemical tests on the concentration of precious metals (gold and silver) in the ore extracted from the underground galleries and on their separation. According to our information, they were used in the technological process in Baia Mare mint, documented in 1411, functioning until around 1850. In the Middle Ages, the melting pots were in the shape of ordinary ceramic pots, the only difference being the fact that they had drainage holes on their edges for the melted ore.
