Ax troliu manual

Manual winding shaft

Until the appearance of engines and the technological mechanization of the mining process, the manual winding shaft was used to drill wells, to take rocks to the surface, to introduce the necessary reinforcement materials and to secure the well. In the 18th century, the extraction of rocks was done with the help of a shaft, mounted at the level of the gallery, having a rope with a bucket at its end (plank bucket). Besides removing the rocks and sending down materials, the manual shaft also had the role of getting miners into the well (two miners at a time).
